Cone Beam CT Scanner

CBCT ScannerOur practice utilizes state-of-the-art, small volume cone-beam CT (computed tomography) technology that provides highly accurate, 3-D radiographic images for the diagnosis, planning, and treatment of disease. This allows three-dimensional visualization of teeth, bone, sinuses, and surrounding structures with minimal radiation to the patient, enabling a level of anatomical accuracy and patient care not possible with 2-D technologies (regular dental x-rays). Dr. Blanco uses the CBCT to plan implant cases, in order to place the implant in the most ideal location, prosthetically has driven which means with the final restoration in mind and to avoid getting too close to the sinuses, nerves, other teeth, etc. Dr. Blanco fabricates a computer-generated surgical guide to place the implants, which makes the surgery very accurate and fast.

Special Features of a CBCT Technology:

  • Pre-Operative Diagnostic Tool
  • Low radiation levels
  • Lower cost than a medical CT Scan
  • Ideal for: Planning Implant Cases, Retreatment Procedures, Trauma, Surgical Endodontics
