Meet Yosvel Blanco Sanchez, DMD, FICOI

Early Life & Inspiration

Dr. Blanco was born and raised in Cuba, where his passion for dentistry began at an early age. His mother, Dr. Raisa Niurka Sanchez, practiced as a general dentist and later specialized in orthodontics. She has always been one of his greatest personal and professional inspirations. As a child, Dr. Blanco often assisted his mother in raising oral health awareness in their small town, an experience that shaped his lifelong commitment to patient care and education.

2005 – Academic Journey in the United States

In 2005, Dr. Blanco moved to the United States and attended the University of South Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. During his undergraduate studies, he received several scholarships, including the Latino Scholarship, which recognizes Latino students for academic excellence. He went on to graduate from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 2015.

Dental School & Humanitarian Service

While in dental school, Dr. Blanco embraced every opportunity to expand his clinical and humanitarian experience. One of his most meaningful memories was participating in dental mission trips to Jamaica for two consecutive years, helping organize the trip during his second visit. He has also volunteered extensively through programs such as the Florida Mission of Mercy.

Advanced Training & Continuing Education

Since graduating, Dr. Blanco has completed over 500 hours of continuing education, pursuing advanced training in occlusion, prosthodontics, endodontics, periodontal and general surgery, and implantology. In 2017, he completed the UF College of Dentistry Implant Educators Comprehensive Interdisciplinary Implant Continuum. He also graduated from the core curriculum of the prestigious Dawson Academy in 2019 alongside his wife, Dr. Susana Hernandez.

Practice & Community

Dr. Blanco has been practicing at Magnolia Dental near The Villages since 2015 and has developed a deep appreciation for the community he serves. Outside of the office, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his family, especially his wife and their three children.

Professional Memberships

Dr. Blanco is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, where he also holds Fellow status.
