Meet Yilian Laborde Chang, DMD

Early Life & Dental Foundation

Dr. Chang was born and raised in Cuba, where she developed a strong academic foundation in dentistry. She graduated as a dentist in July 2014 from the University of Medical Sciences of Havana.

International Clinical Experience

Before relocating to the United States in 2016, Dr. Chang practiced dentistry in Venezuela and Colombia. These international experiences allowed her to broaden her clinical knowledge and develop a deep appreciation for caring for patients from diverse communities and cultural backgrounds.

Clinical Development in the United States

While preparing to return to dental school in the United States, Dr. Chang worked for three years as a Certified Dental Assistant in North Carolina, where she further refined her clinical skills and became increasingly inspired by the impact of high-quality, patient-centered dentistry.

Advanced Education & Continuing Training

Dr. Chang earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Boston University, proudly embracing her time as part of the Terrier family. After graduating in 2022, she moved to Florida, where she has pursued extensive continuing education to provide the most up-to-date dental treatments. Her advanced training includes implant dentistry, clear aligner therapy, and cosmetic dentistry. In 2025, she completed the UF College of Dentistry Implant Educators Comprehensive Interdisciplinary Implant Continuum.

Life Outside the Office

Outside of the office, Dr. Chang enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures with her husband, as well as relaxing with a good book or watching a classic movie.
